Dear Colleagues,
Due to the adjustment in the countersigning procedures for purchase applications and to comply with relevant rules stated in Article 12-4 of Occupational Safety and Health Management Procedures, the purchase of machinery, equipment, materials, protective gears or other goods that are regulated by existing laws and regulations or that require concrete safety and health standards should be countersigned by the Environmental Protection, Occupational Safety and Health Center.
Examples for safety and health products purchase are listed for reference:
- For toxic chemicals regulated by Environmental Protection Administration, Executive Yuan, such as: benzene, chloroform, acetonitrile, etc. relevant information is available on the following website: https://flora2.epa.gov.tw/ToxicC/Query/database.aspx (link is external)
- For chemicals or gas cylinders that meets CNS15030 standard and can be physical hazards or health hazards, such as: methanol, ether, acetone, hydrogen gas cylinder, carbon dioxide cylinder, etc. relevant information is available on Safety Data Sheet, SDS.
- Laboratory apparatus or equipment and safety or health protection gear, such as: Autoclave, oven, SCBA, etc.
- Dangerous machinery and equipment regulated by Ministry of Labor, specially regulated machinery and equipment, specially certified items such as: boiler, power punching-shearing machinery, circular saw, lapping wheel, mixer, pressure vessels, etc.
Upon receiving in purchase cases of the above items, countersigning by Environmental Protection, Occupational Safety and Health Center is required to make sure that relevant safety and health requirements are met.
